Effort where it counts
Goodwill is common. Effort directed by evidence is not, and the gap between the two is where most good is lost.
Our view
The good a given effort does varies by orders of magnitude with where it lands, and that can be estimated before the effort is spent. Teacorps acts on this in its own work and in what it supports: estimate first, then commit.
Local help is real help. A neighbour carried through a hard month, a student taught to read a statistical claim — these are not rounding errors next to global programmes. We do both, and keep the accounts separate.

An effective path
For a society
- Publish evaluations with their models and their uncertainty.
- Fund what the evidence supports, not what is nearest.
- Build infrastructure that no single operator controls.
For an individual
- Choose an amount you can sustain, then decide where it goes.
- Give where the evidence is strongest.
- Spend your rarest skill, not only your money.
